Her Sister Fought Cancer, Now She Works To Help Raise Funds For Childhood Cancer Research

When Christine Hall was 4 years old, her sister was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a nerve cell cancer. Christine’s world was thrown into as much uncertainty as her sister’s. Instead of the stability she was used to, now she wouldn’t know when her parents and sister would be home.

Christine celebrated her 5th birthday at CHKD because her sister was in her first round of chemo and couldn’t leave the hospital. In April of 2011, Christine didn’t see her sister for 3 weeks because she was again in treatment.

Christine shaved her head in solidarity with Jesse and for St. Baldrick’s in 2011. This year she is raffling a quilt to help find a cure and stop the chance of other medical issues due to chemo and radiation for kids fighting cancer.

The quilt was created by Christine’s great grandmother, Grace Gardner. It is 8.5’ by 7’ and includes 2 pillow shams.

Christine is selling tickets for $5 each. When you buy one please leave us your name, address, and phone so we can reach you if you win. We will not share your information with anyone else.

The drawing will occur on September 20, 2012 between 5 and 8pm at Colonial Heritage Clubhouse in Lightfoot, VA during the St. Baldrick’s event.

All proceeds from Christine’s raffle will go to St. Baldrick’s. For more information, please visit stbaldricks.org/events/Williamsburg
